Not a cake walk for starters

After doing some few basic set-up for my new wordpress powered blog. I found out that it won't be that easy cake walk. To be honest, its mind numbing, yet I'm up for the task, only it would take longer than previously expected. Right now, I'm stuck, for a newbie with no experience with much of everything that is wordpress from Cpanel, FTP, and even as simple as downloading preferred wordpress themes. Such task seem too complicated for my brain cells to enact. Its perfectly clear that I still have millions to learn about this new setting, unlike blogger where everything is right in front of you and all you need to do is to activate one's own artistic inclinations as everything is already in front and ready to rock, basically with blogger all the dirty work is done and ironed out for the ease of use. With WordPress however everything needs to be built from domain, hosting, and everything, not to mention the dirty work it promises in entail, For newbies like yours truly, this kind of platform its mind bugling and admittedly very challenging. Yet as whats I've said before, I'm up to the task. After all having such things are a step closer to success.

Contemplating on Wordpress

Its coming in for a while now, I'm thinking of creating a new blog on word press. It would still bare the name Rex Edition without the added attachment. I would still be posting on this blog on a weekly basis but only a portion of it and the rest of the post, or shall I say the complete post would be on that new blog and many other things. Right now, I'm thinking of stuff to put on that blog to make it more fun and about all things informative.
Of course being new to word press poses some obvious hurdles from choosing the proper theme, domain name though I already got that one worked out, to cost effective hosting and many unexpected circumstances beyond uncontrollable imagination, At any rate I'm up for the task ahead. Estimate time of accomplishment would be around 2 to 3 weeks. I wonder how will it turn out?

Sometimes we encounter things in life that defies the very nature of how we look at things, events, places, etc.... These unexplainable terms in human existence that go against reasons and even the very core of scientific probabilities, yet can only be solve by those who are actually be involve in such.

Enough of that...

I was checking out Yahoo.com for some daily dose of headlines throughout the world, one particular headline post stated "Time traveler" caught on film caught my undivided attention.

At first I said to myself, probably a new movie similar to back to the future or something, so I checked it out. To my amazement is wasn't like that at all. I was dismayed however, not on the topic, but on the slowness of the streaming process. So I logged in to my you-tube account and see what the fuzz is all about.
The film in question was taken on the premier of the movie "The Circus" one of Charlie Chaplin movies back in the year 1928. Just check out the Video.

Based on the video, I admit its weird and frankly subject to debate among aficionados, though not so important in the face of global events to say the least. Yet since I'm at this subject I decided to give it a go, and throw in a few of my own theories. though nobody really ask for it. Just for the fun of it...

Observation
Upon viewing the video I notice an old woman walking and holding something in her hand and near to her face, she appears to be talking to it or some sort. I also noticed the physical feature of the person in question, noting the size of her shoe though a bit pointy. Anyway, Comparing that to today's everyday running's in modern society, you get the impression that she's conversing with somebody on her mobile phone which is pretty much common nowadays but not her era. Though the same behavior in question is not much common here as well, from where I am that is, since mobile phone usually get pluck-out of you by unwanted personalities in society..

Anyway, For this I only have 3 crazy theories and a short bundle of down to Earth possibilities.

Theory Number 1: Time traveler
OK, that's what George Clarke was saying: But before I start anything else there is a nagging question that pop in everyone's mind, and that is, is it possible to travel through time?
Will, I'm no scientist to answer that in a more scientific manner of speaking, but a certain notable scientist seems to thing so. If memory serves me correct Albert Einstein theorized the possibility of time travel through his theory of relativity.
So do time traveler exist? in a distant future perhaps there is. If there is a mathematical solution to the enigma "Einstein's Theory" Then perhaps somebody have already done it, without us knowing it. Einstein theory may be far fetch for those of us who knew little, but you can not deny what Einstein's influence did to modern society. The possibility is there.

Theory Number 2: Aliens(what else is new)
We live in a galaxy that is pretty much uncharted. Our scientist are now beginning to discover planets that may have a high degree of probability of another intelligent life form as our technology began to speed up. And the clear point is this, if we exist, than there is a possibility that other more intelligent life exist out there in space. And may have already visited and still doing so ever since. Though apparently I never meet one.
There are those who claim that they've encountered what they think, a more intelligent life forms from outer space. Indeed this is one of the great mysteries since recorded history. Are we alone in the Universe? Even the Bible tells some weird intermingling of species. In the Book of Genesis, tells a story about angels from heaven coming down and taking women as their waives and their offspring became giants and great heroes of the past. If the woman or what it appears to be, in the video is indeed a visiting alien then that would explain her unusual size shoe and somewhat manly facial features.

Theory Number 3: Super Secret Agent
If you ever seen a James bond movie, Then this could be the real deal. like mission impossible, with all the hop-la from great espionage gadgets to unbelievable disguises. Though the person in question does have some shoe size issue not to mention the facial part. But the film crew did not notice it, until 82 years latter. Better late than never don't you think!?

OK! enough of that, lets move to a more serious down to earth theory as to the possible identity of the person in question.

Theory: Light sensitive, Complaining passerby.
My down to Earth theory is so simple, that one only need to pack it in a few sentences.

There are times when we see something that is so common to us that we can be so certain of it, even if its a mile a way or in this case a few eras back. But it does not mean were 100% correct either. For such things are subject to one's own interpretation, There are also times when we see something or in this case someone from a different time frame, we immediately associated it with our way of doing things, like talking and walking with a mobile phone in hand. For all we you the poor woman was just covering her face with a make-up kit. or a small leather notebook. The was and event after all. She could very will be part of the press covering the whole affair.

How do you explain her talking then.

That is where the "Light sensitive, Complaining passerby" comes in.

Explanation?
As I keep watching the video. I notice the shadows of the people including the person in question. First the shadow was reflected on the wall then, then on the ground, and the detail the amount of shade (darkness) in which the shadow is casts. This only indicate artificial lighting and a very bright one at that. Now I don't know much about movie making, but I know for a fact the even today movie crew use lights and plenty of it. Could that be the reason why her hand is near her face? where her hand is up against the lighting system? Note the shadow and the angle of her hands against it. Another reason why the lighting system is the culprit is angle of the shadow when it cast on the ground. The shadow is far to long, and if it was taken in the morning, that would be around 6:00 to 7:00 a.m. not wise for a premier movie time. If its on the afternoon then the shadow cast would be around 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. Anyway what ever the case the crew would still need lights and a very powerful one at that.

So my down to Earth Theory is this"

The Film crew sets up a prop, in this case the zebra. Pops-up some ridiculously powerful lighting system. which is obvious since camera in those times were not as advance as the cameras of today, like an aerial search light of sort and started shooting on the prop. Where a few people just happened to pass by. One of which is an old lady, with a small leather note pad or a little face powder box or anything common everyday thing in that era in her hand. And shielding herself from the light and complaining about it or something. Then she looks at the crew to voice her opinion or what ever. The filming on that set was stopped and switch to another location. The crew being considerate to the poor lady probably said, we'll put you on the movies or something. Or the reason why she was talking is that when she pass by she was complaining about the excessive lights and the film crew was egging her on. Like "just walk as if were not here filming you" of sort.

Needing back up

I've always like playing PC games, mostly RTS. And honestly I never grew tired of it despite my age. I manage to have quite a collection over the past years. From the very simple and a bit childish to the mind bugling complicated stuff. Over the years of playing this stuff, I notice a lot of things on the disk itself and it seems all worn out. Some have scratches and it badly affect my gaming, to make it worst, most of the damage disk are my favorite games.As result to this unwanted and unavoidable damages. I'm have no choice but to buy another one. Copying seems the cheap and viable alternative yet it can be very tricky, and its no good since most of this stuff are heavily protected. It seems to me making back-up for my collection seems like an impossible alternative.
Yet buying another set of the same game seems too over impractical. Since most of the stuff doesn't come cheap in this country. So I did a little browsing to solve this dilemma.

And I think found the stuff I've been looking for.

Imagine if you will, having all your games backed-up. you can used the the back-up disk until the end while keeping the original copy all tuck in nice and safe.

FYI "Herbs" Garlic

When I was a kid playing with relatives and friends was a regular thing to do. One day As I just came home from school. I heard a laud shout from My cousins house, which was a close proximity to ours. Out of curiosity I went to check what the commotion was all about. Apparently my cousin got bitten by a stray dog while playing outside their home. It was an awesome site to behold. When I got there, blood was all over the place. It was a deep bit on the leg. And for a child around 6-7 yrs. old that meant a load of cries from my poor cousin. His mother was quick to act though, after cleaning the wound she took some cloves of garlic and squeeze the juice out and applied it to the wound. Though the result was more of terror from my cousin,it seems the application of the garlic juice was more painful than the actual dog bite. Nonetheless it was first aid his mother said. After that they went to a Doctor for more medical attention. After that, all went well.

Though the application of garlic on the wound cause by the stray dog somewhat debatable on my part though I’m not a medical expert to begin with. But after seeing what had happened the only thing I said was. "Garlic?" other than food I never though of it as something medicinal, of course being at young age then, I never really give it much importance. And as it turn out Garlic does have medicinal value. Indeed from the ancient Egyptians to modern times "Garlic" have been used for religious practice, food, medicine and oddly enough folklore (against vampires and such).

Garlic (scientific name: Allium sativum) is one of the most widely used herbs of all time. It’s medicinal properties has been will known, that during World War II. Because of garlic’s antibacterial compound known as Allicin, lives were saved by preventing wounds from having infection and later develop into gangrene when the juice of garlic was applied to the wounds.

Garlic is known as nature’s antibiotic. It’s juices inhibits the growth of fungi and viruses thus prevents viral, yeast and viral infections. Several clinical test and published studies have shown the efficacy of garlic in lowering cholesterol in the blood and is beneficial to the circulatory system of the body. However, garlic has been consumed for several thousand years without any adverse long-term effects, suggesting that modest quantities of garlic pose, at worst, minimal risks to normal individuals. Possible side effects include gastrointestinal discomfort, sweating, dizziness, allergic reactions, bleeding, and menstrual irregularities.

Arm Chair General Reflections on the Manila hostage crisis

Before anything else I would just like to say, that this post is purely commentary observation on recent events that shockingly awaken the nation. I do not wish to be named an experts of such, rather only as a personal reflection on events as they happened or a least as reported. With this being said I decided to take time in posting as more information is needed to create a more accurate picture as they unfolded in the long days ahead.
To recap last Monday the 23rd of August an ex-police offer Senior Inspector R. Mendoza seized a bus, with 22 Hung-Kong tourists and three Filipinos on board, in a desperate attempt to have himself cleared of extortion and illegal detention charges that had led to him being discharged from the service. The whole affair lasted 12 hours which ended with the demised of 9 people included the hostage taker. The ordeal became a total fiasco from the outset down to the very last minutes, when it was drench with compromises after another at every turn that gave a very unfortunate conclusion for both the victims and the nation as a whole.

Where did it start.
Police in the midst of a self inflected plague, the cancer of corruption.
While everyone is focusing themselves on the tragic event itself, we tend to forget the bigger picture that led to it, not just the case that prompted the ex-police to acted idiotically but the whole police organization and indeed the entire public service structure. For many years since the Marcos dictatorship the nation's police organization has been tainted with abuses and disturbing corrupt practices that made it impotent to do its ordain constitutional mandate. Stories like political body guards, apathy, undisciplined and barely equip to do event the most simplest of policing jobs. I can even recall a time when majority of the police force were actually plague with obesity which was the very least of its problem. Majority of the populace has a very low perception about the national police ranging from abuses both social and authoritative, and as if that is not worst of things, like many other branch of government it also lack proper training, equipment and the lack of major foresight in almost everything else. Growing up I remember old folk and I myself admittedly use the phrase "ayahay pa sa polis" the phrase is use commonly to describe a person lounging about and getting paid for it. . In fairness compare to the PNP before this new generation fared a bit better though still found wanting. Even a few years back the PNP even acted somewhat perfectly in situations such as hijacking of a bus carrying school children in Manila in 2007, and the standoff at the Manila Peninsula Hotel also in 2007.

A different book altogether.
The tragic event last Monday had the same genre like many other hostage taking incident in the country except for some major details that made it a different book altogether. For one, the perpetrator has the same background training as those who are opposing him, that by itself already negates what ever tactical advantage the police had at the onset. It is also clear that there were many factors that put a seal on the tragic affair. The lack of tactical intelligence of the area of operation particular the inner working of the bus itself, the isolation of the area in question, more importantly media and crowd control, and lastly tactical and logistical readiness of the assault team.

Adding fuel to the fire.
Prior to the violence the negotiation went well until it was compromised by meddling personalities particularly the brother of the hostage taker and someone else which the hostage taker seem to be taking advice from, at the height of the crisis, as reported today in the news, aside from "brother boy bulabog" idiotic meddling, local television media also broadcast boy bulabog's resistance and subsequent arrest including interview, which was view by the hostage taker at the very comfort of the besiege bus adding fuel to the fire.

Finger pointing.
Its a common behavior of self righteous arrogance none so true as this one. The police already admitted their shortcomings of the affair yet I personally feel that their are more to consider and take account. Boy Bulabog and the mysterious adviser for one, also I feel the media should take up some responsibility of the matter as well, for over indulging itself in the pretense of responsible journalism.which I personally think centers on ratings rather than the consequence of such violent event.

As to who ever is to blame for a tragic effort an obvious conclusion is clear and changes should be made and learned by heart. The people given the task failed and that's a clear button lime Yet worst is still to come if those who have the power to influence both media and law enforcement failed to make changes on themselves. It is sad that such tragedy became a catalyst that brought light to the lingering problem in the government and it would be worst if we failed to correct it. The task now is if these people have the guts for positive and active change.Or would we still settle for " OK na yan!" attitude.

Dune II “Battle for Arrakis”

Dune II was the first ever RTS game I’d ever played and I love it. For a game of its kind, it was an eye opener for self proclaimed arm chair generals. Unlike most games like first person shooter or rule playing games which personally I find a bit boring and which in those days were very common form of gaming same as now. Dune 2 offers a more wider perspective for players, and the concept is simple yet intricate.

Game History

Dune II: Battle for Arrakis was released in 1992 by Westwood Studios. Based upon David Lynch’s 1984 movie Dune, an adaptation of Frank Herbert’s science fiction novel of the same name. Though not the first real-time strategy game, Dune II became the bases that would be followed for years to come. The use of the mouse as interface for all unit has allowed players to interact with relative ease.

As the game (dune 2) laid the foundation of future RTS game.It follows a simple defined concepts.

Game Plot

Set on a futuristic time of Intergalactic Feudal Empire where“spice melange” is the most valuable substance is being cartel and the planet Arrakis being the only source of “spice melange” in the know universe. Due to its value and demand the Emperor Frederick IV of House Corrino issued a challenge to all noble houses in the empire to harvest the “ spice melange” on Arrakis. And who ever harvest the most spice controls Arrakis
with no set of boundaries and no rules of engagements.

Armies began to arrived on Arrakis among them 3 of the most the most powerful houses all battle for supremacy.

Game Play

As a player you will take the role of a commander of one of the 3 houses of your choice. Each house has it’s own distinct characteristics which also dictate how the game is handled. The objective is to occupy as many territories and conquer other territories occupied by rivals houses. To accomplish this objective the commander (you) going to build and create base and facilities of operation. Starting of with the basic
structure/unit the “construction yard/vehicle”. From there the player expanse his/her base by harvesting spice.The more spice harvested the faster the construction of other vital facilities. A player also invest on raising an army for defense and attack. The game initially starts with a fog of war covering all area which is not covered by the player’s units range of view. As the units explore the map, the darkness or fog is removed. In
addition to enemy incursions, there are other dangers like the marauding and gigantic sandworm,
capable of swallowing vehicles and infantry whole but only capable of moving through sand. The player
can only build on rocky terrain, but must build concrete foundations (slabs) to avoid deterioration of the structures due to the harsh weather conditions although in general, structures
will gradually decay over time regardless of the presence of those concrete slabs due to the aforesaid
weather conditions. Spice fields are indicated by orange coloration on the sand, darker orange indicating
high concentration. Some spice may be concealed as bumps on the terrain (a ’pre-spice mass’) that become
spice fields when they are shot at, or when a unit runs over them (destroying the unit in the ensuing
’spice blow’).

Dune 2000

After the success of dune 2 Westwood studios release an updated version of the game. It basically means better graphics and everything. Though as good as red alert 2 I can grade it as somewhat disappointment.

My Thoughts

Dune 2 is the very first RTS game I’ve ever played, and it totally blow me away. As a kid growing up playing
with soldiers and massively building armies, it appealed to me instinctively. The early dune 2 and its subsequent update Dune 2000 put players like myself wanting for more RTS. And I never look at any other type of game ever since. The only disappointing factor is the graphic design of the latter update Dune 2000. For an update of the original Dune 2 unit graphic didn’t change much, soldiers and storm trooper didn’t change at all in size or in any form.

For Dune fans the update Dune 2000 was a huge welcome though, I'm sure there was a huge cloud of disappointment in graphics end. But for RTS fan like myself it was as good as it get, by the time got my hands on Dune 2000, I was already playing StarCraft including its expansion StarCraft Brood War from game developer Blezzard. Though WestWood came with a similar graphic format as that of blizzard by its release of Red Alert 2. But it would have been nice if that same unit graphics was use on Dune 2000.

Nevertheless the dune 2 and its update dune 2000 did well. And enjoyed it very much I'm also looking forward to play Dune Emperor which is promising. I still need to get my hands on it though.

So it begins, the same old tune

The beginning of a new and the end of the old, for the Republic of the Philippines. As the new leadership of the country takes the helm of the presidency, one is now free to hope for the better or is it? one should also be more realistic as not to expect anything from it, contrasting though it may seems this what compel most if not myself alone. Roughly many years past since I last heard such words of great hope, yet here we are a country overwhelmingly burden by its own leaders. Amazingly the nation was patient enough to bare such a burden. Probably because we've been through worst or it could have been worst or maybe because there was no alternative and that the opposite bares the same stink as those who are in power. Confused and utterly bewildered the nation move on.

PNoy short for President Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III is the 15th elected President of the Republic. Of all the strangest thing in Philippines politics this surely hit the amazing coincidental list. For one it takes a certain demise of a family member, Aquino that is, to be elected to the high post as President. That is not something intended of course, it just happened. It was the gruesome death of his father that catapulted his mother Cory Aquino as the 11th President of the Philippine Republic. And oddly enough is was the death of his Iconic mother last year that rocketed Noy now PNoy to be 15th President of the Philippines. And as though fate takes a funny twist both mother and son inherited a very unpopular government and a country economically stagnated, socially impoverish and not to mention a nation overwhelmed by corrupt leadership and government employees. Both administrations is seen as a new hope and a new beginning, though its also best to note that during Pres. Cory Aquino 6 year term of office the country was in turmoil from Communist rebs, Muslim separatist and small terror groups from the previous dictatorship, coup attempts, mega natural disasters, mind numbing record breaking accidents and before she steps down from office she left behind for her predecessor a parting gift know as the black-out year when the entire country was subject to massive black-outs. Despite all these she held her ground and weather it all in faith and kept democracy alive. Simply put her term was never a walk in the park and she failed on her goal to rid the country of corruption and weakened the countries defensive stature. As for Pnoy his been in office barely a week and its to early to say anything. I do hope it won't be the same as his mother time in office, that would be too nostalgically weird and disturbing.

It has been days since the inauguration of the newly elected leader of the republic and he has a lot of bones to pick with the previous administration so to speak judging by his inaugural speech. As to any changes made on the first few days, there were many obviously, as to the effects of these changes to population at hand only time can tell. Certainly there were some notable few, one of which is the illegal use of sirens. Though one might think that this is the least of all problems, yet one should start some where I'd say, why not start with this simple common abuse of usage. In the Philippines its a common practice for high headed dirty arrogant politicians and family, business personalities, rich kid who think the world revolve on them alone and at times even ordinary citizen to use sirens to ease their transportation headaches at the expense of others. I myself have seen this abuse that undermine traffic discipline. At the inauguration day the president opted not to use sirens though by law he is allowed for obvious security reasons. Talk about setting and example anyway, he was 40 minutes late at the turn over ceremony for the new AFP chief of staff and I doubt that to be his last. Radio commentators have been riding the tide either for or against the new administration, so far majority of which echoed positive sentiments, as to how long that would last no one knows.

As I listen to the inauguration speech, one thing came to mine and that is the "same old tune" as before. Then again its always a wait and see scenario.

When ever I watch something like TV shows, movies or in this case Japanese animation, such event are more of a pass time pretty much so like everyone else I'm sure, for me its like any other forms of entertainment, something to kill time so to speak and nothing more. But sometimes and very rarely in my case, that I encounter a show that I can fully relate to. A show that reminded me of what I was before and what influence me even now, and what became part of me, that something I will never forget as long as I live.

When I was young I always have weird wild fantasy of being in a band, like when your listening to your favorite music you sometime get the thought of yourself performing the act and at times in front of the mirror or whatever, I was no different. I remember it as if it was yesterday, back then I'll be left alone in the house during weekend. Then I'd get the broom or my sister's badminton rocket, get my collection of tapes and then rock the joint. Think about it now, it sure was an odd thing to do to kill time. That was my habit from elementary to high school though, it kind of evolve since then so to speak. Anyways, back then imagining myself performing in front of many people was just what it was "imagination" and nothing more. And I never even thought not in a million years that it would actually happen, an in a span of few months during my junior days in high school, that I became a part of and played with a band. I was 15 then, and it was fun.

Something I can relate to, K-On and Me

A few weeks back I started watching the Japanese animation show titled K-on. Its a story about four high school girls trying to sustain their school’s light music club despite one member being unable to read music or play musical instruments. At first I wasn't really sure if Id like to watch it, as I taught it to be more of a feminine/loli type kind of stuff written all over it, but I was wrong. Actually its a nice Anime, the characters are all female, the story line is great, and oddly enough one that I can actually relate to. Now I'm at the 6th episode of the animated series and looking forward to the next episode.

My Story

The Band that was, Looking back

It all started during my junior years in high school, and honestly prior to that, the totality of my musical experience was limited to brooms and badminton rockets or any wooden stick that serve as my dream guitar. Though there were a few musical instruments at home from my father's old harmonica (I wonder where that went) to a full pledge electronic keyboard. I on the other hand never bother to learn to play any of it. For some reason my interest on such things was high in a first day only to be hit dead low in the next. In other words I was too lazy and the stuff was too complicated so I thought. All my brothers and my sister taught them selves how to play those stuff and teaching a sibling is definitely not in the family rule book.

But, for some reason I ended up being in a band. quite a feat, if you think about it.

Was it destiny?

I doubt that very much, its more like a freaking accident. Anyway, As far as I could remember I was just setting by my desk doing about my own business when I overheard 3 of my classmates discussing something, was I eavesdropping? Nope, one could hear anything if its less than a foot away, by the way all three have musical background one way or the other. Like the lead guitarist (name GJ) is a second generation guitar player and his elder brother is already in a band, the rhythm and vocals (name AC) played guitar since elementary, same goes with the bassist (name RS), the drummer from another class (name RE) was also a second generation drum player. Me on the other hand...never-mind...

Though there were some in my family who actually played musical instruments including the guitar. But one can't seriously count that as a requirement. I think "hardly" is the proper word for it. Anyway, playing musical instruments in my family was just for killing time, and time is a priceless commodity at home.

Back to the to the main story

I was seated just a foot apart from those guys when I heard them saying they need a somebody to play the keyboards. I was looking at them when GJ ask me a question.

Do you know anyone who can play the keyboard?

I answered... nope But we do have a keyboard at home. A stupid answer to a serious question now that I think about it.

The three look at each other and smiled.

GJ and AC said to me would you like to join us.

I thought are you serious???

And for some stupid reason that I can't recall I said "sure" in the end.

Anyway our first practiced session was a complete mess. In my part I can only play on the left side of the keyboard since the chords were as clear as day virtually sticking out at the top of every left key, and I can only play one key at a time LOL, good thing the song was a simple piece, and I miraculously manage to be at tune with the rest. The real problem to their point of view and to my utter relief was the bassist, his timing was a bit off so was the drummer. I think it was from the excitement and everything. Anyway I was just totally kept myself silent during the proceeding, as I don't want them to notice my off the shelf just played today keyboard thing.

After a few hours of the sessions I ended up as the lead vocalist. Coz as it turn out the rhythm and vocals (AC) who was supposed to be the front act was all love song 50's to 70's era fan with a born again Christian background that finds Elvis to be a complete blasphemy. And could not or would not want to relate to any of the piece must of the members wanted disparately to play. While most of us were thinking the latest in like bon-jovi, guns n roses, etc... he was some place else, anyway we all had fun. As time passed by there were few changes within the band AC throw down the towel as will as RS then RH also a classmate came in as the new bassist in a four man band, we practice hard and I usually messed up most of the time, I was thankful for their patience and as always it was all for fun. We even played in a local concert for the first time during that summer and we did two cover songs.

Honestly, just thinking about it, was a bit embarrassing...

I actually messed up the first few seconds of the first song. I didn't forget the lyrics I just sang ahead of everyone else. Embarrassing huh? Anyway, I manage to correct it and actually finish the first piece
perfectly I also aced the second piece. We practiced for a few months but there was already something brewing between my parents and me. Sadly a few months after that I throw in the towel in a time when
were already in a roll and schedule to perform in few days time. Both of my parents particularly my father got a lot to do about it, they weren't really very supportive about it to begin with. But, since they were paying the bills, I guess I got no choice and left the band unwillingly. I played with the guys for almost a year and sadly left when thing started to move.

After that a new school year came, the band slowly and surely disintegrated, for reasons I don't know a feud erupted between the drummer and the rest of the band, A week before a appearing on a concert so he got kick out. That was a few short months after I left the band. I was shock to learn about it when the drummer (RE) approach me to ask a favor. He ask me to ask the guys to allow him to come up stage and perform. It got something to do with his girlfriend or something. Anyway, I was always in good terms with everyone though, I know how disappointed they were about me living the band. Anyway, I did what the RE ask and got him to perform unstage using an unplugged electric guitar. A friend of mine who attended the concert said that RE dance, jump and held that guitar up high even though it wasn't plug on to anything. I wonder if it fooled his girlfriend or the whole audience. Will at least he got his wish. They got a new vocalist though replacing my slot but that was after that said concert. And a few months before graduation RH the bass guitar player quit the band. The band continued on after a while with only GJ on lead guitar and ED as front man reinforce by GJ's brother and cousin whose band was disbanded a few years back. They got some gig in the local music sine but no major stuff. They did join a band contest and ended third, I was there to give support, that was my last involvement with the band by then I was already in college.

Last I heard everybody parted ways. "They all got married" hehehehe....

After I left the band I started teaching myself how to play the guitar. I find it a bit silly sometimes. While I was in the band I never took the time to learn how to play, only after living the band I started learning how to play the guitar by myself of course. Anyway I probably rate myself as fair if not average guitar player. I also had a chance to perform on stage in a local party about 200 people, were I sang 8 songs which also was my last performance, it was like a jamming session with lots of people watching. I still play the guitar every now and then just to kill time, and I still have that infamous keyboard, though I really don't know how to play the darn thing. And I'm planning to buy an electric guitar when I'm financial capable, a sort of personal gift for myself. I've owned 3 acoustic guitar only one manage to survive the ravage of time. Not really my fault though.

I never regretted joining the band despite the my obvious lack of experience and everything there of. And though it was a great sorrow to depart in the end, yet I learn a lot from it. And as that chapter in my life close new once are written in an instant.

relate to K-On

As I watch episode after episode on K-On it brings back memories. The jamming session are all became carved in stone within me. It was a time when everything was possible the smile, the laughter the fun even the hardships all became vivid even to this day and on many days to come. And I'm sure anyone with the same
experience as I have would agree to it with all certainty.

It's something one can never forget as long as one can live.

Whats the fuss in earning a living on-line

What does it take to earn a living in the internet? For those who failed, for those who want to earn(Advertising phrase) and for those who just want to know how. This is a question ask by everyone and answered in different ways by individuals concerned. So, what ever shoes your in, there is no doubt that you'll need to address the question at hand to achieve great success on-line and it start with you, your website, product or service and finally traffic and plenty of it, of course in reference to website either its your own or someone else. Whatever type of website your using to make money on, both has its own pros and cons, depending on the number of website your actually maintaining. Let say for example your promoting a certain site (not your own) and want to expand your business other than the previews, then you'll have another sites to promote on-line, obviously dividing your time and efforts for both sites, and as new opportunities comes along, maintaining these sites will certainly be tedious to down right impossible. If your concentrating on just one business which is totally fine except that your missing out on other opportunities that may turn out to be a great prospect. Of course this is a great issue among marketeers specially those lacking success and more prone to failures. Yes, in the grand scheme of things that is on-line money making, everything start and ends with you what ever the outcome is, hence the question. What does it take to earn a living on the net? oddly enough the answer to this question is the result of your actions be it good or bad. Are you motivated enough to go through the competition and try to end up at the top of the game. Most marketeer sadly falls to the count the chick before it hatch category which explain the 95% failure rate. The only tips I can give you is to find your motivation, set your goal, be patience, persevere and most of all give your self the biggest help by doing some work and research on how to improve your business instead of waiting to be spoon feed like a baby by your up-line who like you is more likely doing the very same thing as what your hoping for. Have you ever fallen on the catch phrase fast or easy or instant money? Although there are companies that do delivers what they promise, they use this phrase mainly to make a sales obviously. And oddly enough adding you in the equation in advance as if you have already succeeded, nothing wrong with that though. The problem begin with the person itself, My point is if you want to earn be creative.

The nation had spoken and by June the 30th the Philippine Republic will have a new President. As to how good or bad this will turn out be for the republic only those who live through it can tell, 6 years from now that is. As far as I could remember I've been through 5 presidency, all of whom I remember so vividly since my early elementary days. These days the president elect has been swamped by unsolicited advice from every corner of Philippine society. From Politician who have more experience in governing their own interest yet failed to do there job for the nation to common people, advices ranging from quitting smoking to how one should run the country, as if they could do better than anyone. Of course some of these advices do merit some degree of consideration. What amazes me most is how these advices are made to the recipient, which something you can't do during the past administrations. All thanks to today communication technology that allow commoners like myself to access sites that allow people to be a bit more up close and personal. But now I think about it if such technology is available back then can anybody send some unsolicited advice, rant or what ever to the president elect?. Let's think and ponder of the possibilities. Let's start with The Marcos Dictatorship were everything started to go downhill for the Republic, Its more likely you end-up floating in a some stinking river for daring such a thing. The Aquino Administration, who's son is the soon incoming 15th president of the republic. Chances are your letter would be sidetracked and end up as propaganda by the opposition both the leftist or the rightist, and be viewed as the people's official rallying point without you knowing it. The Ramos Administration, now this is a tough one, I don't think he needs an advice, his was able to run the country pretty well during his time. The Estrada administration, If I can recall perfectly there was once an undersecretary of some sort who got fired for telling the public that his the only sober person in the palace. Based on that account, any letter of advice or whatever would probably wait until everybody is sober enough to read it. The PGMA administration, well this is the only administration were I can confidently say, that a citizen don't really know whats what anymore. Both side proclaim to be God send yet both seems to look like a bunch of human dung piled up altogether. Anyway, back to where the topic is, the upcoming leader of the nation has been swamped by advices. Should he be overwhelmed by this?, I do not know, at any rate one should not turn a back from it.

She announced a revolutionary government but did nothing revolutionary. She promised land reform but did not do it. She became president only because her husband was murdered and you became president elect only because your mother died. Still, you are your father’s son and may you now — for the good of this country and people — scale the heights he and your mother never reached.

I am 85 and how I despair over how three generations of our leaders failed! Before I go, please let me see this unhappy country begin to be a much better place than the garbage dump our leaders and people have made it. You can be this long awaited messiah but only if you are brave enough and wise enough to redeem your father’s aborted promise.

Some people from time to time viewed life with a gloomy picture. To others, the complete contrary, as they view it more of a challenge which they accept. Disposed to live each day as it comes. Not expecting heaven on earth, neither do they by-pass any reasonable chance to make life a more satisfying for themselves and others. A realistic way of thinking, enough to accept their evident limitations, yet also disposed to work out problems alone if possible, and with help if necessary.

Try as we may, one cannot avoid conflicts in life. Between personal needs, wants and limitations and those of others, we face some conflicts from time to time. The deeper we to understanding of these conflict, the better our chances of maintaining a broad prospective, we will probably achieve a fuller self-possession, a wiser self management, and a more realistic solution to conflicts. Knowledge alone cannot achieve this mental, emotional and spiritual upheavals. Knowledge acquired are mere memory, without ever being absorbed into inner feelings, positive attitudes, sense of values, and healthy involvements. Probably only a prayerful reflection will bring a deeper and richer understanding and appreciation of what we already know from memory. And all it is needed in to put it into practice.

May 10 election came and went and here I am in front and writing. If someone would ask me, how did it go? I'd say it was a good change, though not entirely viable as one could possible hope for. The top national position, I'd say there is a certain hope for a good start with the new administration at the helm, yet on the other hand only history can tell when everything has come an gone. On the local front, despite overwhelming possibilities of defeat a certain politician and cronies who in many years been tainted with neglect and corruption, manage an overwhelmingly win against publicly favored candidate. All and all despite allegations of massive vote buying in my own home town which the accusation seems credible enough and some unfortunate incidents elsewhere. My country's first automated election was a success, though admittedly there are still plenty of things to ironed out.

The road to election automation in the Philippines was largely brought about by the nation's awe to its ally the United State. Back then the nation electoral contest was wage through manual counting, which sadly make it untrustworthy and prone to loopholes and lot of it. Being a premium member of said program I was able to experience major growth in earned numbers. I was very happy and who wouldn't, seeing everything unfolded right in front of me.

Things began to go downhill when I first made my cash out request with the amount of $130 on the first week of December 2009. To my shock I wasn't paid, I made and inquiry as to why I was not paid as promise. The support staff were courteous enough to apologized though not professional enough to assure me of a precise date of payment. Talk about being a trustworthy site. On my 3rd and final inquiry to my humble request for immediate payment, again the support staff did what he was paid to do and express his understanding and told me all the B.S. that is going on and latter told me that bux.to is not a scam an blah. blah blah and yet still here I am waiting to get paid, Thinking, every explanation seems like a well rehearse scrip from a movie.

So the question is.

Is Bux.to a scam?

It has been 6 months since I made my cash out request and to think of it optimistically against present facts is like thinking that Barak Obama is actually a white guy and that his skin color is just a result over exposure to the sun. Not that there is something wrong with being colored person, Sorry for the metaphor, the point is to assume optimistically based on the evidence experience by yours truly would be overly optimistic to the point of foolishness. the fact is I wasn't paid. Is it a scam? YES until maybe perhaps people from bux.to PTC program pays me I may be able to lessen my negative opinion on them. But seeing that is very much unlikely or perhaps even to a point of being reckless on their part. And I'm sure I'm not the only one experiencing the lack honor and responsibility on the part of bux.to.

As to their prof of said payment, honestly I don't, know perhaps that they paid those people, but forgot to pay me among many others and probably hundred before and after my request was made. what do I think of it, I mean it is extremely easy to create a forum where you can create fictitious post claiming otherwise. Even I can do that and claim that I got 72 virgin as my personal harem and I live in my own personal pleasure paradise complete with everything a man could ever want in life with pics and vids to show my sincere proof of existence.

I remember once not so long ago, when I was young playing under the sun. My mother called on me to come home for it was high noon. But to me then as I remembered was just another day not minding any hint of heat or of any sort, such was those days when a children play under the sun. When summer months are mark by calendars not by thermometers or so I remembered. Now however things have change, a blistering heat, a sudden needed though not enough rain and droughts unprecedented such are the days now. I feel a convulsion of the earth. and the poetry of poets change to ever sudden dread. There was a time when a days weather are but a needless topic for people who had nothing to say, yet hope to start and to converse. Now however the weather is a global topic and a pose of great concern. Alas! the time indeed has come to past as the weather the season change where disasters converge, where the old remember that was and the young dream on. Alas! it comes for what we planted is now almost near to harvest .

A self realization of reality is sometimes a hard pill to swallow for some people if not all. Some find comfort and solace to move on matter the effect. Some face it head on brutally while some escape. Life's constant unchanging circumstance though different in magnitude, can make or break a person depending on its action.
A sincerest efforts to achieve an intelligent fulfillment of needs and a reasonable satisfaction of wants, yet be prepare to feel insecurity, frustration, or tension from time to time. every person has its own share of these, and I am not exempted. Living in this worlds is certainly no paradise, but neither is it an utter hell. In one sense, life is what we make it, and in order to make sense,
we are what we permit life make us. Though we cannot choose all the things we would like to have in this world, we can learn to get some enjoyment and satisfaction from the things that lie within our reach. Every person has a choice of surrendering to disappointments and wallowing in self-pity, or beginning each new day with renew attitude and make the most of daily life's circumstances and situation

Fame, fortune and success means different thing to each of us. What they mean to each one depends on the needs and wants, preferences and prejudices which developed through past experience that continue to motivate even to this day. These influences our feelings, thoughts and decision more often than we realizes. Even when our intentions are good and our efforts sincere, we can be mistaken or misguided by such. Each of us is given a choice of remaining fixed in our mental present, emotional and spiritual drought thereof, or of growing each day a little more fully the kind of person we could yet become. Many would probably deny it, but most people would make some changes in themselves or in their personal life, if they could relive it with the wisdom they have learned from past experience. Though no man can change himself completely, every man can, with good will and reasonable expectations, achieve an appreciable progress in our desire for self change in every aspect of out life.
